Korčulaia sits in the quiet bay of Slatina, about 15 minutes by car from Vela Luka in the west of Korčula island. Getting here is easier than it looks on the map – and the crossing is part of the holiday.
By plane
The nearest international airports are Split and Dubrovnik. For Vela Luka, Split is usually the better choice, because ferries and catamarans sail directly from Split harbour to Vela Luka. Split airport is about 25 km from the harbour (bus or taxi).
From Split: ferry or catamaran straight to Vela Luka
- Car ferry (Jadrolinija): Split – Vela Luka in about 3 hours, cars allowed. Book your car early in high season.
- Catamaran: passengers only, about 2 hours, daily in season.
Timetables change with the season – please always check the current schedule with the operators. At Vela Luka harbour you can pick up a rental car, or we'll tell you the best way to reach us.
By car via the Pelješac peninsula
Coming from Split or Dubrovnik, drive across the Pelješac bridge (since 2022, no border crossing) to Orebić. A short car ferry takes you to Dominče near Korčula town. From there it is about 45 km across the island to Vela Luka – a lovely drive through vineyards and olive groves.
On the island
- We recommend a car or scooter: supermarket, restaurants and beaches are easiest to reach with your own vehicle. Parking at the house is free.
- Check-in from 4 pm, check-out by 10 am. You'll receive your door code and detailed directions two days before arrival.
Our tip: time your ferry so you arrive in the late afternoon – that's when the bay welcomes you in its best light.
Fancy the bay? Booking directly with us is always the best price.
